Level B1 - Course Overview

Complete French Mastery B1 — Intermediate French Course

Who the B1 Course Is For

B1 — Intermediate | Approximately CLB 5–6

For intermediate learners developing the ability to explain experiences, discuss plans, and communicate more independently. Official CLB-equivalent 5–6 results in all four abilities may provide 4 core CRS points when French is the second official language, or approximately 24–36 core CRS points when French is the first official language.

The exact first-language total depends on the test level and whether the applicant has an accompanying spouse:

  • CLB 5: 24 core CRS points
  • CLB 6 with an accompanying spouse: 32 points
  • CLB 6 without an accompanying spouse: 36 points
  • French as the second official language at CLB 5–6: 4 points

These totals assume the same benchmark is achieved in all four abilities.

Note: CLB/NCLC references are approximate educational comparisons. Immigration eligibility and scoring depend on official test results, individual circumstances and current government rules. Consult official government information or a licensed professional.
