Programs tested in real learning & community settings.

This page brings together selected pilots, facilitated sessions, organizational use, participant feedback and independent documentation from across the Simple French with Hems learning ecosystem. The goal is not to turn every activity into a success claim. It is to show where programs have actually been used, what was delivered and what the available evidence can — and cannot — tell us.

How we describe program evidence

These terms are used consistently across this page to distinguish early implementation, public demonstration, ongoing use and different sources of feedback.

Pilot An early real-world implementation used to observe delivery and participant response.
Demonstration A shorter public or organizational showcase of a program, activity or technology.
Ongoing implementation A program currently being used beyond a single demonstration or one-time showcase.
Participant feedback Comments or observations provided by an individual participant about their experience.
Organization feedback Comments provided by a host organization or an organizational representative.

Garneau community VR pilot

A facilitated community session brought immersive French-learning activities into a multi-generational setting involving children, youth and adults.

Organization / setting Community program delivered at Garneau Public School, Edmonton.
Audience Children, youth and adult community participants.
What was delivered Facilitator-supported immersive VR French activities with guided participant interaction.
What was being tested How guided immersive interaction could function in a mixed-age community environment.
What happened The session was delivered with real participants and participant feedback was documented afterward.
Evidence available Pilot photographs, session documentation and participant testimonial material.
Important limitation: This was a facilitated field pilot, not a controlled academic study. Participant feedback documents experience and usability; it does not establish a measured language-learning effect.

Testing the delivery environment for real-time interaction

An earlier AI- and VR-supported French-learning pilot was conducted in an Edmonton innovation setting to test how the technology and facilitated delivery worked outside the development environment.

Organization / setting Edmonton Unlimited innovation environment, downtown Edmonton.
Audience Pilot participants in a facilitated innovation setting.
What was delivered AI- and VR-supported French interaction inside a supervised pilot environment.
What was being tested Real-time interaction, facilitator workflow and the wider delivery environment around the headset.
What happened The pilot became part of the public SchoolPulse documentation and a connected pilot review was published.
Evidence available Pilot imagery, pilot review, program documentation and public SchoolPulse evidence material.
Important limitation: The pilot demonstrates real-world delivery and technology testing. It should not be read as independent validation of educational outcomes.

SEESA facilitated senior immersive pilot

Older adults participated in a guided, facilitator-led immersive session combining unfamiliar French, interaction and supported headset use. This delivery experience helped inform the development of the Immersive Mind & Memory Program (IMMP).

Organization / setting South East Edmonton Seniors Association (SEESA).
Audience Seniors and older-adult participants.
What was delivered Seated, guided VR participation with facilitator support and shared group interaction.
What was being tested Facilitated participation, comfort, group visibility and the practical use of unfamiliar language and VR with older adults.
What happened Live senior participation was documented alongside participant and program-coordinator feedback.
Evidence available Real session photographs, participant feedback, coordinator feedback and delivery documentation.
Important limitation: IMMP is an educational, recreational and engagement program. Pilot participation and participant feedback are not clinical evidence and do not demonstrate treatment, diagnosis or cognitive improvement.

Community activations

Public events provide a different type of evidence. They show whether people will approach, participate, try the technology and interact with the learning format outside a formal classroom or pilot.

Public showcase K-Days 2026

K-Days Innovation Zone

Simple French with Hems participated as an official Innovation Zone exhibitor, presenting its AI-, VR- and technology-supported French-learning ecosystem in a large public event environment.

What this documents Public technology presentation, real-world demonstration and exposure to visitors outside a controlled pilot.
Does not prove: exhibition participation is not evidence of a specific educational outcome or an endorsement by K-Days.
Ecosystem event Aug 27, 2026

Technology Alberta

Simple French with Hems was listed as a guest company at Technology Alberta's Edmonton Research Park Annual BBQ, Tours & Talks.

What this documents Participation in Alberta's technology ecosystem and presentation of the company's learning technology in a professional innovation setting.
Does not prove: event participation should not be interpreted as endorsement of every SFWH product or claim.
Community participation Edmonton 2026

45-Second French Challenge

Members of the Edmonton community were invited to take part in a short French-speaking activity designed to move people quickly from observation into spoken participation.

What this documents Real public participation, short-form speaking attempts and community interaction with an SFWH learning activity.
Important: participation by public figures, community members or organizations does not imply endorsement.

Organizational programs

These examples are different from short public activations. They show how selected SFWH resources are being used inside childcare and independent teaching environments.

OSC implementation

Edmonton childcare & OSC use

SavoirNest™ is being used as a staff-friendly, ready-to-run French program in an Edmonton childcare and out-of-school-care environment.

Partner implementation in an Edmonton childcare and OSC setting.
Staff use ready-made activities instead of building French resources from scratch.
Partner feedback describes the structure as easy for staff to follow.
Public program documentation currently lists an OSC partner on board.
Important limitation: Organizational partner feedback describes practical experience with the program. It is not an independent study of learner outcomes.

Tutor implementation

Independent tutor network

Independent tutors and educators use SFWH supporting materials, pronunciation resources and digital practice tools around their own teaching.

Public tutor documentation currently lists seven tutors on board.
Tutors remain responsible for their own instruction and learner relationships.
Supporting resources can be used for worksheets, pronunciation and between-session practice.
Published feedback includes independent and institutional tutor perspectives.
Important limitation: Tutor feedback is practical user feedback. It does not mean every tutor uses every tool, and it is not a comparative effectiveness study.

Independent documentation

Some records come from outside Simple French with Hems. These sources can independently document that the company, technology or program existed and was publicly described, while not automatically validating specific outcomes.

Independent editorial · NAIT

NAIT TechLifeToday

NAIT TechLifeToday published an editorial feature covering Simple French with Hems, its AI-assisted learning system, immersive technology and community-facing learning work.

This is independent editorial documentation. It should not be interpreted as NAIT certifying or guaranteeing the effectiveness of SFWH programs.
External ecosystem profile

Alberta Catalyzer · Velocity Cohort 18

Alberta Catalyzer publicly listed Simple French with Hems in Velocity Cohort 18 and described the platform as including an AI-driven VR game with real-time pronunciation feedback inside immersive, gamified scenarios.

The profile independently documents the company and technology description within Alberta's innovation ecosystem. It is not an endorsement of specific learning outcomes.

What these case studies do — and do not — show

We separate evidence of delivery, participation, feedback and external documentation from stronger claims that would require formal research.

01

A pilot is not a controlled study.

A successful session can show that a program was delivered, used and observed in a real setting. It does not by itself establish causation or measured learning gains.

02

Feedback is experience evidence.

Participant, coordinator, tutor and partner comments help document usability and perceived value. Individual feedback should not be generalized to everyone.

03

Public presence is not endorsement.

Appearing at an event, working in a venue or being photographed with a participant does not mean that the venue, participant or organization endorses every SFWH claim.

04

External coverage has a specific role.

Independent media and ecosystem profiles can confirm that the company or technology was externally documented. They do not replace educational or clinical research.

Delivery scope

Online French-learning services can be accessed more broadly, but facilitated SchoolPulse VR™ and IMMP pilot sessions are currently arranged locally rather than offered as a worldwide self-serve VR product. Availability for an on-site pilot or organizational session depends on location, program fit and delivery arrangements.
